As 27th state of India, Uttarakhand came into existence on November 9th, 2000 and now familiar as the earth of the Gods due to existence of several pilgrimage centers and Hindus temples. Uttarakhand is acknowledged for its wonderful as well as picturesque surrounding with larger mountains, pure water, chilling snowfall, soothing air, various rivers, glaciers, dense forest, chardhams and lots more. This state is mainly separated into two regions namely Garhwal and Kumaon consisting 13 districts. The districts under Garhwal region are Pauri, Theri, Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Haridwar, Dehradun, Rudraprayag usually identified as Garhwal) and Almora, Champawat, Bageshwar, Pithoragarh, Udham Singh Nagar, Nainital come under Kumaon region.

Uttarakhand is also known as Uttaranchal and this name was given by Bharatiya Janta Party at the time when they had started constituting new states. Uttarakhand has 53,484 Sq. meter of total area in which 93% is covered by mountains and the rest 65% is covered by forests. 70% of its population are dependent on agriculture and could be assumed as their main livelihood. Kumbh Mela is one of the ultimate attractions of Uttarakhand that attract people across the world to visit this place. Dozens of travel destination are available here where you can spend your time in vacation days. In case you are religious then Badrinath, Kedarnath, Gangotri, Yamunotri are some of awesome religious place to visit.

Apart from this, the State is also affluent in mineral deposits such as marble, limestone, rock phosphate, magnesite, dolomite, gypsum, copper etc. A large number of small scale industries are existing in Uttarakhand who are offering employment to thousands of deserving candidates.
