8 Fresh faces in Television industry from Uttarakhand

    A lot of actors and actress have emerged in the television industry who hail from Uttarakhand. It is a well-known fact that Pahari people look like angels and they are talented. They add a lot of beauty to our television industry and make fellow Pahari people proud!
    These actors and actresses have made their debut this year and the previous year. Let us have a look who they are and in which serials they are working in:

    1. Sonam Bisht

    Sonam Bisht with her flawless skin and rosy pink cheeks is a typical Pahari beauty. Seen currently on star plus' soap opera "Suhani Si EK Ladki" where she plays the negative lead, Yuvraj's wife. Sonam Bisht spent her childhood in Dehradun. She did her schooling from Kendriya Vidyalaya. She participated in Miss India Beauty Pageant held in 2014. In 2013, this beauty was crowned the first runner-up in Miss Uttarakhand contest. 
    Sonam Bisht went on to participate in the third season of India's Best Cine stars Ki Khoj. She bagged the role of Dulari Bharadwaj on Z's show "Lajwanti" in 2015 where she displayed her impeccable acting skills. 

    2.  Shivangi Joshi

    Shivangi Joshi is another beauty who belongs to Uttarakhand. She is known for her childlike cute look and those dimples. She is a part of a Garhwali family based in Dehradun. 
    She is acclaimed for playing the role of Poonam in Begusarai and Naira in star plus' Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai. Her popularity has surged all over the social media after she got this role which is now the current lead after the show’s protagonist for a decade departs the serial soon.
    She has also seen in Beintehaa in which her character's name was Barkat Rizwan Malik.
    Before Beintehaan, Ms. Joshi was seen playing the role of Nisha in Khelti Hai Zindagi Aankh Micholi.

    3. Renee Dhyani

    Renee is another admired face in the television industry who is native to Uttarakhand. She hails from Kumaon region of Uttarakhand. She gained popularity after she appeared in the eighth season of MTV's Roadies in 2011. She was seen as a bold and hard line girl, engaging herself in several fights.
    Renee also appeared on Welcome 2 – Baazi Mehmaan Nawaazi Ki as a participant.
    In 2014, Renee Dhyani appeared on the eighth season of Bigg Boss hosted by Salman Khan. She was evicted on the 70th day.
    She is now seen in Balaji Telefilms Show 'Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki' that airs on Colors playing the role of Neha Khurana, Tanu's cousin. Renee Dhyani is currently dating her co-star from the show Kasam, Lalit Bisht. Lalit plays the role of Rajveer on the show.

    4. Lalit Bisht

    Lalit was brought up in a district called Almora in Uttarakhand. He was pursuing Event Management but later left it all to join the entertainment industry. He started producing ads and working as a filmmaker. When he became a part of the industry, acting started fascinating him. He participated in various plays.

    He debuted with the crime based show “Hum Ne li hai Shapath”. Lalit debuted in Bollywood with his film Jeet Lengey Jahaan which is a social satire. He is a director as well as a screenwriter of the film. He also had a cameo in the show “Yeh hai Mohabbatein” where he enacted the role of Lawyer Chadhdha. At present, he is a star cast in the show 'Kasam Tere Pyaar Ki' with his beau Renne Dhyani.

    5. Dipesh Negi

    Dipesh is another hunky Pahari actor who is a recent entry in the television film industry. He is the alpha male dominating in every field. He has an engineering graduation degree from J B Institute of Technology, Dehradun. No wonder engineers are the most versatile people. His early life was spent in Dharuchla in Pithaugarh district. 

    He was very experimental when it came to his career. So he also has a casting director experience to add to his list of achievements. He is presently winning hearts with his show Chandra Nandini a romantic biopic of the first king of India Chandragupta Maurya.

    6. Mohit Joshi

    Mohit Joshi is a heartthrob and a recently invaded the television industry. He belongs to the native Kumaoni family descendants in Haldwani, Nainital. The lad was born Dehradun, Uttarakhand. His early life was spent in the Nainital district of Uttarakhand. He also has a Bachelor’s degree from the reputed Kumaon University, Nainital. 

    Before entering the television industry he was a well-known model. He kicks started his career with modeling in Delhi. Now he has entered the show on Star Plus “Chandra Nandini” which has a growing audience popularity. 

    7. Namik Paul

    Dreamboat Namik Paul also belongs to the beautiful state of Uttarakhand. The handsome hunk was born in Dehradun and spent a major part of his life in the same city. Later he went to Mumbai to live his dream of becoming a star. And boy that did happen!! He bagged the role in the popular daily soap opera “Qubool Hai”. The show completed 4 seasons and was making the highest TRP. 

    After “Qubool Hai”show concluded Nakim had no pause, he was the lead in the show Ek Duje Ke Vaste. The show was surging in fame like no other. Due to some internal issues, the show was called off. Now it is a buzz that he might make a comeback soon with a music based show namely “Trip”. Namik is one of the few known twitter celebs amongst the television stars. His fan following goes far beyond than any other actor in town. Fans have got his back!!

    8. Prakriti Nautiyal

    Prakruti hails from Tehri Garwhal and brought up in Dehradun & Chandigarh. This young and very dynamic actress have worked with channels like MTV, LIFE OK, Bindass and many others. She explored and worked in projects which are challenging and interesting at the same time. One of the best things about the choice of her projects is the diversity. She has worked in diverse languages, from 4 Punjabi music videos and movies, TV shows in leading national channels, various documentaries in Hindi, English, and Gujarati.
